Sinko

Sinko was a real music freak the moment he was born. Originally, his dream was to play the drums, but as he was not allowed to take up said instrument, he eventually started expressing himself with the guitar – an adventure that turned out to be more or less fruitless. In the late seventies early eighties, his parents worked on a disco boat, where his father would occasionally play italo-disco songs. These sounds and the similarly light-hearted mixtapes gathered here and there later became typical soundtracks of his home influencing his early days.

Sinko discovered the world of vinyl records at a young age, but it was thanks to a Sven Vath tape he got from his mother that he actually started to collect records. From ’98 onwards, he was working as a sound technician at the radio station Tilos Rádió and started djing on-air from time to time. In the early 2000s, he formed the band Realistic Crew with three friends, where he produced some of his first drum and bass beats. At the same time, he has also started a radio show on Tilos Rádió named Hotel North Pole. Over its ten years of existence, Hotel North Pole has also gone through some expansion, invading clubs all around Budapest.

As a member of the NVC crew since 2009, he performed alongside artists like Paul Kalkbrenner, Ellen Allien, Apparat, T. Raumschmiere, James Holden, Nathan Fake, Modeselektor, Extrawelt, Oliver Koletzki, Noze or Fairmont.
