MÁRK BARTHA

Márk Bartha is a Budapest-based electronic musician, sound designer and audiovisual artist. His artistic aesthetics are characterised by a particular sensuality that stems from his sensorial awarness, sensitivity.

Known for its site-specific performances, Ensemble in Limbo is an ‘open ensemble’ project led by Márk that investigates spatial and sonic phenomena through live instrumental drone music. Blending performance and installation art, Márk engages dynamically with architectural spaces, crafting immersive experiences that examine how sound and environment shape perception.

His audiovisual projects he frequently deals with thematising our relationship with our environment, whilst his sound installations take an observational approach blending field recordings with noises and sound design.

Márk also produces and performs under the moniker Lohuma, hosting a radio show on Budapest’s independent Lahmacun Radio and creating deconstructed club/bass music. He worked with various theatre- and dance companies in Hungary as well as in the USA, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, Slovakia, Romania, Slovenia and Poland, and toured through Europe with contemporary dance performances. He composes music for animations, visual media, short and full feature films.
