Since ancient times, Hungarian hospitality has been based on individual, large portions, and it was not appropriate to poke around in each other's plates. This was gradually broken by restaurants offering Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes in small portions, where we eat from shared plates and do not have to behave well.
